Our Grade 1 Reading activities on Kids Academy Classroom are designed to strengthen foundational literacy skills, building fluency, phonics, and comprehension in an engaging way.

Print concepts

  • Use capital letters at the beginning of a sentence

  • Use punctuation at the end of a sentence

  • Distinguish which punctuation should be used

  • Read words in order with accuracy

Accuracy and fluency

  • Use context to confirm or self-correct word recognition
