The Grade 1 curriculum reinforces key skills and introduces new concepts through interactive games, video lessons, engaging printables and more.

Subjects and some of the skills offered within them:

Math: Addition and subtraction, place value and number sense, understanding shapes and their attributes, simple word problems.

English: Building vocabulary through context and word relationships, recognizing and using proper nouns and pronouns, applying capitalization and punctuation rules in writing, and developing phonics and spelling skills through fun worksheets and games.

Reading: Understanding print concepts and decoding words, reading with accuracy and fluency, identifying main ideas in fiction and nonfiction texts, and segmenting words into sounds to support comprehension.

Science: Exploring plants and animals, understanding weather and seasons, basics of force and motion, introduction to the solar system.

Social Studies: Community roles and responsibilities, national symbols and holidays, basic geography and maps, understanding timelines and history.

Chess: Chess piece movements, recognizing check and checkmate, learning opening tactics, understanding the value of each piece.

World Around Us: Identifying body parts and their functions, learning about the environment, exploring the five senses, recognizing local community helpers.
