# Grade 1

**Subjects and some of the skills offered within them:**

**Reading:** Understanding print concepts and decoding words, reading with accuracy and fluency, identifying main ideas in fiction and nonfiction texts, and segmenting words into sounds to support comprehension.

**Science:** Exploring plants and animals, understanding weather and seasons, basics of force and motion, introduction to the solar system.
