Science for Grade 3
Our Grade 3 Science activities on Kids Academy Classroom build on earlier knowledge and challenge learners to think critically about the natural world, forces, weather, and the relationship between humans and the environment. Children explore ecosystems, heredity, fossils, and natural hazards while continuing to practice observation, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
Core areas covered:
Animals
Explore bird and insect structures
Review animal concepts

Force and interactions
Investigate magnets in everyday life
Study patterns in motion
Understand cause-and-effect interactions
Learn about balance and stability

Organisms
Explore plant and animal life cycles
Discover adaptations for survival
Learn about traits and heredity
Study fossils as evidence of life in the past
Deepen understanding of animal adaptations and habitats

Weather
Recognize patterns in weather
Identify natural hazards
Learn strategies to reduce the impact of natural hazards
Explore climate and its effects

Earth and human activity
Learn what animals and plants need to survive
Investigate human impact on the Earth
Understand how to reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink
Celebrate Earth Day

Learning formats
Worksheets to practice and reinforce science concepts
Lessons for guided explanations and discovery
Videos for visual engagement and demonstrations
This prepares Grade 3 learners to explore more complex scientific relationships, connect past evidence with present knowledge, and think about how human choices impact the Earth.
